[Scene: Central Park, everyone's there.]

Joey: Your folks are really that bad, huh?

       너희 부모님 정말 너무 하시다, 그렇지?

Ross: Well, y'know, these people are pros. They know what they're doing, they take their time, they get the job done.

     음, 부모님은 프로들이야. 그들은 그들이 해야할 것을 알고, 그들의 시간을 가지고, 그 일을 해결하지.

        (제가 알기론 여기서 웃음이 터지는 이유는 로스가 추측하고 말하는 투가 형사 같은 누군가의 말투를 따라 했는 걸로 저는 기억하고 있어요! 확실하진 않아요 ㅎㅎ..)

Monica: Boy, I know they say that you can't change your parents,... boy, if you could- (To Ross) -I'd like yours.

      음, 사람들은 너는 너의 부모님을 바꿀 수 없다고 말하는 걸 알지만... 만약에 그럴 수 있다면 (로스를 보며) - 나는 너의 부모님으로 바꿀래.

      (여러분도 아시다시피 로스와 모니카의 부모님은 같은데, 부모님이 둘에게 대하는 것이 많이 달라서 이런 말을 하네요. 서럽..ㅜㅜ..)

Ross: Must pee. (Goes to pee.)

         화장실 갔다올게. (소변누러감)

Phoebe: Y'know, it's even worse when you're twins.

            사실, 쌍둥이면 그게 더 최악이야.

Rachel: You're twins?

          너 쌍둥이야?

Phoebe: Yeah. We don't speak. She's like this high-powered, driven career type.

          맞아. 우리는 얘기도 안해. 그녀는 일에 집중하는 타입이야

            (일하는 여성, 커리어 워먼 같은 느낌이에요)

Chandler: What does she do?

            무슨일을 하는데?

Phoebe: She's a waitress.

            웨이트리스야.

Joey: Identical?

         닮았어?

Phoebe: Yeah, people say we look alike, but I don't see it.

           맞아, 사람들이 닮았다고 말하는데, 나는 아닌거 같애.

Rachel: All right, you guys, I kinda gotta clean up now. (They all start to leave.)

           자 모두들, 나 이제 청소해야되. (다 떠날 준비를 한다)

Monica: Chandler, you're an only child, right? You don't have any of this.

           챈들러, 너는 외동이잖아, 맞지? 너는 이런 것들이 없겠네.

Chandler: Well, no, although I did have an imaginary friend, who... my parents actually preferred.

  음, 아니야, 사실 나도 가상의 친구가 있어서, 그 친구는... 나의 부모님이 그 가상의 친구를 더 좋아했어.

Rachel: Hit the lights, please..

           불좀 꺼줘.

(Joey turns off the lights, and they all leave as Rachel starts to clean up.  Ross enters from the bathroom.)

(조이가 불을 끄고, 모두가 떠났다. 레이첼은 청소를 시작했다. 로스가 화장실에서 등장한다)

Ross: ...How long was I in there?

         ... 내가 얼마나 저 안에 있었던거지?

         (불꺼지고 얘들이 다 나간것을 보고 장난스럽게 얘기하네요 ㅎ)

Rachel: I'm just cleaning up.

         나는 청소하고 있었어.

Ross: D'ya.. uh.. d'ya need any help?

         너...어... 도움이 필요해?

Rachel: Uh.. okay, sure! Thanks! (She hands him the broom and sits down.)

            음... 좋아, 좋지! 고마워! (레이첼은 로스에게 빗자루를 주고 앉았다)

Ross: Anyway.. um.. (Starts to sweep.) So, you- uh- you nervous about Barry tomorrow?

       어쨌든.. 음..  (쓸기 시작했다) 그래서, 너- 음- 너 내일 베리 만나는 거 긴장되니?

Rachel: Oh.. a little..

          오... 조금....

Ross: Mm-hmm..

          으흠...

Rachel: A lot.

          많이.

Ross: Mm.

        음.

Rachel: So, got any advice? Y'know, as someone who's recently been- dumped?

          혹시, 조언 해줄거 없어? 최근에 차인 사람으로서 말이야

Ross: Well, you may wanna steer clear of the word 'dumped'. Chances are he's gonna be this, this broken shell of a man, y'know, so you should try not to look too terrific, I know it'll be hard. Or, y'know, uh, hey!, I'll go down there, and I'll give Barry back his ring, and you can go with Carol and Susan to the OB/GYN...

        흠, 너는 '차였다'라는 말은 쫌 조심했으면 좋겠네. 배리는, 마음의 상처를 받았을 가능성이 있어, 그래서 너는 너무 좋아보이는 모습을 보여주지 않는 것이 좋아, 내가 알기론 매우 힘든 상황이거든. 아니면 음, 좋아! 내가 내일 배리한테 갈게. 그리고 배리한테 반지도 돌려줄게, 대신에 니가 캐롤, 수잔이랑 같이 임산부 검사실 갈래?...

Rachel: Oh, you've got Carol tomorrow.. When did it get so complicated?

         오우, 너 캐롤 내일 만나는 구나..   언제 이렇게 복잡해진거지?

Ross: Got me.

       나도 모르겠어.

Rachel: Remember when we were in high school together?

           고등학교 다녔을 때 기억나?

Ross: Yeah.

        그렇지.

Rachel: I mean, didn't you think you were just gonna meet somone, fall in love- and that'd be it? (Ross gazes at her.) ..Ross?

         내 생각에, 예전엔 누군가를 만나고, 사랑에 빠지고- 그리고 그게 전부였는데 그렇게 생각하지 않아? (로스가 그녀를 쳐다보고 있다) ..로스?

Ross: Yes, yes!

        맞아, 맞아!

Rachel: Oh! Man, I never thought I'd be here.. (She leans back onto his hand.)

           오! 이런, 내가 여기 있을거라곤 생각도 못했어.. (레이첼이 로스의 손등에 기댄다)

Ross: Me either... (He pulls up a stool so that he doesn't have to move his hand.)

        나도 그래... (로스는 본인의 손은 그대로 놔둔채로 의자를 당긴다)

 

 

[Scene: Carol's OB/GYN, Carol is waiting.]

Ross: (entering) Sorry I'm late, I got stuck at work. There was this big dinosaur.. thing.. anyway.

        (등장하면서) 미안 늦었지, 일이 많아서. 큰 공룡에 관한.. 것들.. 어쨌든.

(Susan enters holding a drink.)

 (수잔이 음료를 든 체로 들어온다)

Susan: Hi.

          안녕.

Carol: Ross, you remember Susan.

         로스, 너 수잔 기억나지?

Ross: How could I forget?

        내가 어떻게 잊겠어?

Susan: Ross.

         로스.

Ross: (they shake hands) Hello, Susan. (To Carol) Good shake. Good shake. So, uh, we're just waiting for...?

       (악수를 한다) 안녕, 수잔.  (캐롤 보면서) 좋은 악수야. 좋은 악수. 그래서, 우리가 기다리는 게...?

Carol: Dr. Oberman.

       오버만 의사.

Ross: ..Dr. Oberman. Okay. And is he-

         오버만 의사. 그래. 그리고 그가-

Susan: She.

         여자야.

Ross: -she, of course, she- uh- familiar with our.. special situation?

         -여자, 물론이지, 여자- 음- 우리의 특별한 상황에 대해서 잘 알아?

Carol: Yes, and she's very supportive.

        알고 있어 그리고 아주 응원해주고 있어.

Ross: Okay, that's great. (Susan gives her drink to Carol.) No, I'm- Oh. 

         그거 잘 됐네. (수잔이 캐롤에게 음료를 주려고 한다) 아니, 나는 - 아하.

          (본인한테 주는 줄 알고, 필요없다고 말하려다가, 캐롤에게 건넨다.)

Carol: Thanks.

        고마워.

Ross: (picks up a surgical instrament and mimes a duck with it) Quack, quack..

         (의학 장비를 들어 올린다 그리고 오리 흉내를 낸다) 꽥, 꽥...

Carol: Ross? That opens my cervix. (He drops it in horror.)

         로스? 그게 내 자궁을 열어. (로스가 식겁한 상태로 떨어 뜨린다)

 

 

[Scene Barry's office, Barry is working on patient, Robbie, as Rachel enters.]

Rachel: Barry?

           배리?

Barry: C'mon in.

         들어와.

Rachel: (hesitates) Are you sure?

         (망설이면서) 진짜로?

Barry: Yeah! It's fine, it's fine. Robbie's gonna be here for hours.

         당연하지! 괜찮아, 괜찮아. 로비는 여기서 몇시간 더 있을거야.

Robbie: Huh?!

            네?!

Barry: So, how ya doin?

        그래서, 무슨일이야?

Rachel: I'm- uh- I'm okay... You look great!

          나는- 음- 나는 괜찮아... 너 좋아 보인다!

Barry: Yeah, well..

         음, 그렇지..

Bernice: (over intercom) Dr. Farber, Jason Greenstein's gagging.

            (인터폰에서)  파버의사, 제이슨 그린스테인이 구토를 하고 있어요.

Barry: (answering the intercom) Be right there. (To Robbie and Rachel) Be back in a sec.

          (인터폰에 대답하면서) 곧 갈게요. (로비랑 레이첼에게) 금방 돌아올게.

(As Barry exits Robbie stares at Rachel.)

(배리가 나가고, 로비가 레이첼을 쳐다본다)

Rachel: I dumped him.

        내가 찼어

Robbie: Okay.

           알겠어요.
